Community Life
At Cornerstone we view our students, staff and families as a whole community. We believe that we are not meant to do life alone, and an important aspect of Cornerstone is purposefully doing life together, not just educating children. Our vision statement is an ever present reminder of what Cornerstone desires to cultivate… A humble community that treasures Christ, pursues wisdom and virtue, loves what is true, good, and beautiful, and lives a life of worship to God and service to others. Away from the classroom and the teaching at home, we have a discipleship mindset of walking through the valleys, plateaus, and ascents of daily life, and all of its seasons together with you. Community Life is the term used here at Cornerstone to encompass the events and the intentional ways that we create opportunities for a knitting together of each individual into this community of believers for the glory of God.
School Trips & Field Trip Week
At Cornerstone we aim to exercise a Biblical worldview through engagement with different opportunities and communities. Trips are encouraged and a week off from campus class days and at home curriculum is scheduled for adventures away from our immediate community to experience new opportunities, communities, cultures, and enrichment to the time period being studied.

Cornerstone House System
Cornerstone families are organized into one of four different houses. Each family remains in their house for the duration of their time at Cornerstone. Houses allow for the bonding of teammates, pursuit of achievements and triumph at the end of the school year for the house with the most points accumulated.

Cornerstone Days
Cornerstone Days are events geared for the gathering of the entire family to join together with the whole community. These events are opportunities for fellowship, fun, laughter, connection, and worship.

Service Projects
At Cornerstone we encourage families and students to experience a sense of purpose in contributing to something larger than themselves through the commitment to serving others for the glory of God. Cornerstone Service Projects are executed twice a year with an emphasis on meeting needs, showing compassion, exercising selflessness and servant hood, and fostering connection with the greater area community.

Scholé Day
Scholé, a Greek word meaning “restful learning,” invites students to spend one day a week with a slow, intentional day of reflection and discovery. Activities might include nature walks, journaling, or learning about a composer—all meant to foster deeper thought and connection with God’s creation. Families can choose to join a small group or enjoy the day together at home. The goal is a peaceful, focused time of learning, helping students grow in both knowledge and wonder.

Historical Enrichment Experiences
& Discovery Week
At Cornerstone we strive to make the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom a memorable experience by enriching the historical time periods with simulation experiences. Twice a year students and families will participate in a Historical Enrichment Experience that brings a time period to life with details of attire, food, music, art, discoveries, inventions, popular activities, and important feats. To further enrich the pursuit of knowledge, a week off from curriculum is scheduled for student-led discoveries. Discovery Week is a time for students and families to pursue passions and interests outside of curriculum subjects to experience new opportunities and skills.

Cornerstone Competitions
Cornerstone Competitions are opportunities for our community to compete and strive alongside each other with a common goal in mind, triumph. These competitions happen throughout the school year and Cornerstone houses earn points for prevailing. Parents and students will pursue athletic achievements in various activities with the essence of rivalry in a culture of teamwork, respect, adherence to morals, challenging personal growth, and positive support of others.

Cornerstone Cotillion
At Cornerstone a season of etiquette and dance classes is implemented with all students. To end the season we celebrate our efforts with Cornerstone Cotillion, a formal dance and dinner. This social event for the entire family is a highlight of the year where a King and Queen of Etiquette are crowned and lasting memories are made.

Clubs
On Wednesday/Thursday mornings, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun and engaging clubs, led by parents who share their passions and talents. These clubs cater to different interests, offering something for everyone, from arts and crafts to outdoor adventures and team-building activities. It’s a time for students to explore new hobbies, build friendships, and grow in creativity and teamwork, all while being guided by supportive, caring mentors.
